The Delta County Sheriff’s Office has announced that all fire restrictions across Delta County have been lifted as of Friday, September 12, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. (noon).

This means residents and visitors may once again enjoy normal outdoor activities in compliance with standard state and local regulations.

Fire Safety Still Matters

While restrictions have been lifted, community members are reminded to remain vigilant and practice safe fire habits:

  • Never leave a fire unattended.

  • Fully extinguish campfires by drowning, stirring, and checking for heat before leaving.

  • Keep water and tools nearby when using open flames.

  • Properly dispose of cigarettes and matches.

The Sheriff’s Office, Delta County officials, and the Town of Paonia thank the public for their cooperation during the restriction period and ask everyone to continue practicing fire awareness to help prevent wildfires.

Thank you,
Town of Paonia
