Background on the Current Comprehensive (Master) Plan
Through the assistance of a DOLA Planning Grant, the Town of Paonia selected Phoenix Rising Resources, LLC through a competitive bid process to complete a Comprehensive (Master) Plan. This plan is the most important Land-Use Planning document that Paonia (and other municipalities) uses to help define and enumerate the vision and goals of a community. The existing Comprehensive (Master) Plan dates back to 1996, and although multiple draft iterations were completed since 1996, none of them have been approved. Once completed, the Comprehensive (Master) Plan will provide the framework for Land-Use policies and is extremely important in addressing the needs for long-term balanced growth and development as well as addressing current needs.
